In an economic context where financing is key to tourism, the credit card has solidified itself as the undisputed payment method for Argentines to freeze prices and organize their budget.

A new survey confirmed that plastic leads preferences in both domestic and outbound travel, driven by new payment facilities.

The Reign of the Credit Card As reported by the Argentine News Agency, when planning a vacation, flexibility is the priority.

National Tourism: Credit cards account for 75% of transactions, being the favorite option for traveling within the country.

International Tourism: It also leads with 55% of operations, although closely followed by debit and DEBIN, which are growing as direct alternatives.

"Today, travelers seek predictability," explained Paula Cristi, General Manager of Despegar for Argentina and Uruguay.

Growth in Dollar Payments Another growing trend is direct payment in foreign currency to avoid local taxes and surcharges.
